Kauchuk

residential buildings, 2007-2015

The tree brick towers are part of one of the residential quarters on the site of the demolished Kauchuk (Crude Rubber) factory. The residential development around the new city pond is united by common materials and imagery. The deep dense lattice of the facade conceals the large apartment windows. The sculptural volumes of the towers are both solid and permeable at the same time. The plastic mesh structure evokes an object that is both industrial and natural.
